Stage 4.Investigation of radiation stability of polycyanurate based materialsunder the influence of different types of irradiation. Determinationof the possibility of generation of nanoporous structure by creating tracks via bombarding polycyanurate films with neutrons. popup.stage_title Head Fainleib Oleksandr M., Registration Date 07-12-2021 Organization Institute of Chemistry of Macromolecular Compounds of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description2  A method of research and testing of thin film polymeric materials using powerful electron beams has been developed. The radiation resistance of polymer films of polycyanurates obtained by in situ polycyclotrimerization of dicyanate ester of bisphenol E, DCBE, in the presence of dimethyl phthalate, DMF, DCB/DMF= 70/30 wt.% by irradiation of electron beam of 1-2 MeV, secondary electrons and gamma rays has been studied. It was found that polycyanurate modified with dimethyl phthalate is resistant to selected conditions of radiation exposure at a dose of 200 kGy, as it preserves the integrity of the chemical structure and high thermal characteristics. The suitability of the modified polycyanurates for use in conditions of high radiation has been confirmed. Nanocomposites of polycyanurates filled with boron nitride nanoparticles containing (0.1, 0.5, 1.0 and 2.0) wt.% of BN were synthesized and the polymer films were irradiated with a neutron beam of 2,7×106 neutrons/sec, which provided an absorbed dose of 1.24×1010 neutrons/cm2, followed by gamma sensitization with a dose of 100 kGy and chemical etching. The SEM method revealed the presence of a clear porous structure of the samples after etching with pores of mostly round shape of micron size. Product Description popup.authors Gigoryeva Olga P.
