The number of patients with pathology of the digestive system continues to increase and over the past decade the average Ukrainian prevalence of diseases of the digestive system has increased by 42.2%. It is known that recently the number of gallstones, acute pancreatitis, especially biliary etiology, especially biliary etiology, destruction and deformation of the bile ducts, chronic pancreatitis and cancer of the hepatopancreatoduodenal zone has increased significantly worldwide and in Ukraine in particular. Diagnosis of chronic gastritis in practical medicine is quite difficult, due to the low number of patients seeking medical help, as patients often have minor subjective symptoms with which they cope well enough. The prevalence of various morphological forms of chronic gastritis in different age groups has not been studied enough. The prognosis of gastric cancer is quite complex, as carcinogenesis is the result of the interaction of a complex of factors that include individual genetic predisposition, heterogeneity of H. pylori strains, environmental influences, including diet, the presence of precancerous conditions and changes in SOS. Summarizing the above data, it can be noted that revealing the nature and determining the degree of metaplasia in neoplastic gastric processes creates prospects for the use of morphological and metabolic indicators as additional markers of gastrocancer, which, in turn, will facilitate timely diagnosis of precancerous changes in gastric mucosa. Therefore, the study, and especially the verification of possible specific changes in the stomach under the influence of one or another factor, the development of criteria for morphological diagnosis of metaplasia and further tactics of patients with this pathology, is especially relevant today.
