Water with a hardness of 4.0 mg-eq/dm3 is optimal for the post-embryonic development of the sterlet. After 28 days of exogenous feeding, the average weight of sterlet in this group was 1840,00 ± 0,21 mg, and is higher than in the 1st and 3rd groups, respectively, 1,4 and 1,8 times. The probable difference in survival between the study groups was not found, on average, it was 90%. The young sturgeon has a higher, relative to sterlet, adaptive potential for hardness and mineralization of water. The growth processes and viability of this species are higher under the conditions of its rearing in the initial stages of development in an aquatic environment characterized by hardness of 4,0 mg-eq/dm3 and 2,5 mg-eq/dm3.
