Karazin Kharkiv National University popup.description2  The report summarizes the results of the second stage of the project for 2021, and is devoted to the implementation of practical tasks related to the synthesis of glucosides of flavonol and chromone derivatives that can be used for further indicators of β-glucosidase activity. During the implementation of the second project stage the reaction of flavonol glucosylation was carried out using four synthetic pathways, chromatographic and mass-spectrometric analysis of glucosylation products was made, the glucoside of unsubstituted flavonol was obtained, and now the synthesis of for new glucosides continues. The synthesis and accumulation of required amounts of intermediate products and target flavonol-aglycones have been also carried out. The investigations of spectral properties of aglycones and new obtained glycosides continue. A theoretical analysis of the glucoside hydrolysis efficiency by the β-glucosidase has been made. It was shown that the efficiency of the hydrolysis does not depend on electron-releasing or electron-withdrawing properties of substituents in flavonol-aglycones. However, it was found that the flavonol-aglycones formed under β-glucosidase action can bind the latter and suppress its catalytic activity.
