Kukhar Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry and Petrochemistry of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description2  To achieve the goal of using by-products from oil and fat production in high-temperature lubricating compositions, their chemical modification was carried out by hydroxylation and amidation methods.Analytical and spectrometric methods of analysis confirmed the composition and chemical structure of hydroxylation and amidation products. Resistance to mechanical destruction and oxidation of the thixotropic system based on hydroxylated phosphatide concentrate of simple lithium grease has been proven by operational comparative tests with a thickener of 12-hydroxystearic acid. Samples of high-temperature complex calcium and urea greases were synthesized.Saponification of hydroxy acids based on phosphatide concentrate and neutralization of the complexing acid with calcium hydroxide produced a complex lubricating composition. The urea dispersed phase of thixotropic systems was synthesized by the interaction of aminoamides of fatty acids of by-products with polyisocyanate. It was proved by the method of IR spectroscopy that their complete interaction takes place between polyisocyanate and amidated phosphatide concentrate at a molar ratio of 1: 3. The physical and chemical properties of the developed high-temperature greases have been studied and a comparative analysis of their quality indicators has been carried out.Synthesized greases are characterized by high mechanical, colloidal stability and high temperature properties, their upper temperature limit of application, which is set by the method of derivatographic analysis, reaches 180-200ºC.In addition, these thixotropic systems are resistant to oxidation, do not corrode non-ferrous metals and are able to work in contact with water.Phosphorus-containing residues improve the lubricating properties of the synthesized compositions without the additional introduction of tribological modifiers.
