For each Linum species was found to have several types of protein spectrum, which can be related to the heterostyly of these species. As a result of different intraspecific crosses, it was found that different Linum species have different self-incompatibility types: for L. perenne is prezygotic incompatibility, for L. grandiflorum is postzygotic incompatibility, and for L. thracicum, L. tenue and L. hirsutum is intermediate type of self-incompatibility. A method for complete lectin isolation and purification of different heterostyle types of flax has been developed. In each of the species, 40 fractions of lectins were isolated. Using the selected fractions of lectins, a method for overcoming self-incompatibility and interspecific incompatibility was developed, which was used to create viable seeds F0 of interspecific hybrids.
