Analysis of the world experience in the use of bainite and pearlitic steels, and determination of promising steel compositions for railway tracks. The forecast model on the basis of known ССТ for definition of temperatures of the beginning of bainitic transformation and cooling rate for receiving bainite with achievement of hardness according to requirements of standart to high-strength rails is developed. Production in laboratory conditions of ingots of experimental steels up to 10 kg with different alloying systems. A mathematical model has been developed that allows predicting changes in temperature, cooling rates and structural diagrams of the cross-section of the experimental model during its heat treatment. The model can be used to construct thermokinetic (CCT) diagrams in order to obtain the required structural state and complex properties of the metal. Using the FEM, the effect of small fluctuations in the content of chemical elements was established and the regularities of the formation of the phase composition under different cooling conditions (medium, cross section) were calculated.
