Objects of research - multilayer nanostructured coatings. The purpose of the work is to obtain wear-resistant nanostructured nanolayer vacuum-arc coatings. Research and search for connections between physical and mechanical properties and structural state of nanolayer coatings. Research methods - hardness measurement, determination of the level of elasticity by indentation method, determination of friction coefficients, X-ray structural studies, electron microscopy. The structure and properties of vacuum-arc multilayer composite coatings of the MeN/Cu system (where Me is Cr, Zr and Nb) have been studied. It is established that at the smallest thickness of nanolayers (about 8-10 nm) of composites in the layers of all systems only a phase with fcc lattice is formed, without a pronounced texture in the nitride layers. For ZrN and CrN the phases with the fcc lattice are equilibrium, and for NbN they are nonequilibrium. Increasing the thickness of the nitride layers leads to the appearance of texture in the ZrN/Cu and CrN/Cu systems and the formation of the equilibrium phase ε-NbN in the layers of the NbN/Cu system. Tests for corrosion resistance in the environment of formation of chloride ions showed that the coatings undergo an anodic reaction. The best corrosion properties were obtained for coatings with the smallest layer thickness (about 8 - 10 nm). Key words: nanolayer coatings, nitrides, morphology, structure.
