Registration Date 21-12-2021 Organization Ivan Franko National University of Lviv popup.description2  The site for investigations of the photovoltaic (PV) properties of ferroelectrics and related materials has been created and successfully tested. The photovoltaic effect was detected in Pb[(Mg1/3Nb2/3)0.68Ti0.32]O3 (PMNT) solid solution. It manifests itself in increase of spontaneous polarization under the influence of increasing light irradiation of a sample. The explanation of the PV effect in PMNT crystals was proposed. Investigations of the absorption spectra of (NH4)2CuCl4×2H2O crystals were performed. It has been found that the optical absorption edge in these crystals is described by the empirical Urbach’s rule. Presence of the intensive absorption bands in a visible and near IR spectral region (1.1 – 2.2 еV) testifies to the possibility of free carriers’ generation under the influence of white light, that implies expediency of PV effect investigations in (NH4)2CuCl4×2H2O crystals.
