The aim is to improve the diagnostic competence of specialists in language testing of higher military educational institutions and military training units of higher education institutions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in accordance with NATO standard STANAG 6001. Research methods - analysis of modern methods of distance learning concerning foreign languages; analysis of diagnostic competence development of foreign language teachers and language testing specialists; substantiation for improving the diagnostic competence of specialists in language testing of higher military educational institutions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in accordance with NATO STANAG 6001. In accordance with the requirements for the level of foreign language proficiency of the Armed Forces of Ukraine personnel, the recommendations for improving the diagnostic competence of language testing specialists of higher military educational institutions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in accordance with NATO STANAG 6001 are substantiated. The training of language testing specialists in accordance with NATO STANAG 6001 is provided taking into account modern innovative technologies of teaching and testing foreign. These measures will improve the evaluation quality of language training results of the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the effectiveness of the system of language training and language testing in the Armed Forces of Ukraine as a whole.
