New nucleotide sequences will be entered into the Genetic Data Bank (GenBank®). New Trichinella samples have been added to our unique Trichinella DNA library from wild and domestic animals in Ukraine. We found that the main reservoir of trichinellosis invasion in natural foci in the Mixed Forests of Ukraine is the wolf and fox. Wild boars, raccoons, badgers and martens are also involved in the circulation of parasites. The average extent of predatory mammal infestation in the Mixed Forests of Ukraine is 15%. The intensity of animal invasion in the area of Mixed Forests of Ukraine ranges from 15 to 208 larvae of Trichinella in 10 g of muscle tissue. The circulation of Trichinella in natural foci of invasion is ensured by trophic connections and occurs mainly through predation, cannibalism and eating the carcasses of Trichinella-infected animals, which hunters leave as "bait" in nature. All identified species of Trichinella are extremely pathogenic to humans. Product Description popup.authors Didyk Yuliya M. Smahol Vitalij M popup.nrat_date 2021-12-21 Close
