Theories on regional economy, spatial and innovative development, competitiveness, service of economy, concepts of growing economic return are used in work on a theme; methods: analysis, synthesis, generalization, comparison; structural-functional, statistical and factor analysis; integrated estimation, multifactor regression analysis and economic-mathematical modeling; strategic analysis, etc. According to the results of the analysis, theoretical and methodological approaches to the study of the potential of the commercial services sector in ensuring the socio-economic growth of the regions have been deepened; assessed the preconditions, features and level of shadowing of certain sectors of commercial services at the national and regional levels, developed and tested methodological approaches to identifying economic activities in the commercial services sector with growing economic returns and strategic competitiveness and analyzed the effectiveness of the potential of certain areas of commercial services. The strategic priorities of systemic de-shadowing and development of the commercial services sector are substantiated, as well as institutional and organizational-economic mechanisms of de-shadowing of relations in various subsectors of commercial services at the national and regional levels are developed. The results of R&D are implemented in the practice of management at the national and regional levels. According to the results of research, 2 scientific reports and a monograph were published.
