The following parameters are responsible for the formation of a solid solution: the mixing entropy, the mixing enthalpy ofbinary alloys, theatomic size difference, the electronegativity differenceof elements, the valenceelectron concentration.Based on the literary review, main and additional alloying elements were selected for the synthesis of heat-resistant and wear-resistant high-entropy cast irons and steels.The design of a special vacuum induction furnace for smelting high-entropy alloys has been developed.Experimental procedure for studying of the heat resistance, oxidation kinetics and the effect of heat treatment on the elastic properties of the HEAs by the DMA method has been developed.
