SOUTHERN OCEAN, HYDROLOGICAL FRONTS, SOUTHERN ORKNEY ISLANDS OF BRANSFILD STRAIT, FERRY BOX. The purpose of the research is to identify the hydrological structure of the surface water layer in the area of the main works of the Ukrainian fish-wing super-trawler "Commonwealth Sea" in the 2020-2021 season in the South Orkney Islands and the Bransfield Strait. The analysis of the obtained data used standard methods of mathematical statistics, graphical and comparative analysis, as well as satellite data: from the drifting buoys of the ARGO program, the Copernicus Marine Monitoring Service. The paper shows the hydrological features of surface waters in the Bransfield Strait and the South Orkney Islands. The spatio-temporal variability of the main oceanographic parameters of the surface layer of the marine environment is revealed, their daily and seasonal fluctuations are revealed. It was noted that trawling was carried out in the zone of simultaneous stay of the most intense thermal and oxygen fronts, and the trajectory of fishing tackles was directed along the shoreline and ran parallel to these frontal zones. The report also summarizes the results of the analysis of information obtained during the first two stages, namely: Stage 1 - expert analysis of data obtained using the measuring complex "Ferry Box" in the summer of 2018-2021; Stage 2 - analysis of the variability of the hydrological frontal zones of the South Atlantic and the Atlantic sector of the Southern Ocean according to measurements in the summer of 2018-2021. The results of this work will expand knowledge about the Southern Ocean, identify trends in climatic variability of oceanographic fields, forecasting areas of high biological productivity. Thanks to the received expedition materials, the oceanographic database of the National Antarctic Research Center of Ukraine was supplemented. Product Description popup.authors Bol`shakov Vadym M.
