Bogatsky National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description2 The object of the study is the influence of the interaction of oxides, sulfides and fluorides of metals with Germanium and Boron oxide on the process of thermal evaporation in vacuum according to the CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition) - mechanism and properties of the resulting coatings. IR transmission spectroscopy, X-ray phase analysis, chemical substantial analysis, thermal evaporation of materials in vacuum and determination of optical and operational parameters of coatings were used as research methods. It has been established that the addition of Boron oxide, due to the formation of complex oxides such as metal borates, promotes the evaporation of CVD - composites of the Germanium - metal oxide (sulfide, fluoride) composition in a satisfactory technological mode and the production of thin-film coatings with enhanced optical (optical transparency, stable refractive index) and operational (mechanical durability, climatic resistance) properties and high reproducibility. This is especially noticeable in the systems Germanium - Germanium dioxide - Boron oxide and Germanium - Zinc sulfide - Boron oxide, in which the mechanical durability under the action of the Boron oxide additive increases several times with a simultaneous sharp increase in climatic resistance due to an increase in adhesion to the substrate. The results of the work should be applied in optical instrumentation by using the developed materials in the creation of optical elements coated with coatings such as IR spectral dividers and cut-off filters with a long storage and operating time. The use of new materials in optics of the infrared range will open up prospects both for peaceful purposes (household appliances, astronomical devices) and for strengthening the defence capability of the state, and will help to increase the prestige of domestic science and technology.
