The aim of the work is to study the modifying effect of insoluble more refractory metals on copper and aluminum during crystallization from the vapor phase and melt in vacuum. Research methods: X-ray diffractometry, metallography, scanning and transmission electron microscopy, X-ray fluorescence analysis, measurement of strength properties and thermal stability of the initial state. It is established that the atoms of iron and zirconium during the crystallization of the aluminum melt are active in relation to the grain boundaries of the matrix metal. It was found that the modification of copper or aluminum matrix metals with molybdenum, tantalum in the first case and iron in the second case leads to an increase in value of the Hall-Petch coefficient. The combination of strength and conductivity of the studied objects surpasses the existing analogues of metallurgical origin. The initial nanoscale grain size of the matrix metal of copper condensates modified with molybdenum or tantalum is maintained under the influence of temperature up to 900*C for several hours. These indicators are a record for metals in the nanostructured state nowadays.
