This is due to the constant increase of radionuclide concentration and the total radioactive background in the environment due to the rapid development of nuclear energy, enhancing activity in using the ionizing radiation sources in industry, medicine and science. Mountains are a kind of natural barriers to the movement of air currents with radioactive and industrial emissions, the accumulation of which can change the trace elements and isotopic composition of the highland water-soil complex. As a result, a significant increase in the radioactive background may pose a threat to functioning and restoring ecological systems and human health. As a result of the implementation of the 1st stage of this project, the spatio-temporal parameters of sampling of river mules and soils of the Carpathian Mountains were established; the optimal set of gamma-active nuclides as a mark of ecological condition and intensity of technogenic activity in alpine and adjacent territories is obtained; the results obtained for applied applications, namely the population of the mountainous regions of Transcarpathia will receive information on the levels of man-made pollution, important for the prevention of human diseases associated with the specific distribution of chemical elements in mountainous areas.
