The object of the project study is the impact of wind and solar power plants (during construction and operation) within the steppe zone of Ukraine on the herpetobiont population of the respective territories. The objectives of the research phase were: in-house processing of the collected materials, their analysis and summing up the interim results; establishment of species diversity, number and biotope distribution of representatives of herpetobiont fauna with spring activity in the areas of construction and operation of wind farms. Based on the collection and field research conducted this year, recommendations were made on methods and research of herpetobiont insects within wind farms and solar power plants in the steppe zone of Ukraine and the peculiarities of the selection of test sites. A list of stenobiont "indicator" species that can be used to assess the state of environmental impact on the basis of a rare component is proposed. The spring stage of research of researched damaged and research sites within the wind power plant of Kherson region was carried out. More than 2,400 original records of insects, including herpetobionts, have been entered into the GBIF international database within the Kherson and Zaporizhia regions of Ukraine, including the territories and environs of built and designed wind power plants. The first stage of research of influence of operational activity of WVTG on small mammals is carried out. For the first time, a method of conducting such studies is described, which significantly reduces the probability of death of animals in animal traps. Abnormal development of fur on the back was found in voles in the areas near WTG - some individuals were deprived of spinning hair. The etiology of this phenomenon requires further research.
