Scientific and institutional provisions and recommendations for determining the strategic directions of Ukraine's integration into the EU's scientific, educational and innovation spaces as a source of sustainable advanced innovation development have been developed. Institutional measures to deepen Ukraine's integration into the European Research Area through the Concept of Development of Regional Research Centers of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine are proposed. Scientific and methodological provisions for conducting an experiment to form a niche of Ukrainian-Polish scientific, educational and innovation space in the form of a pilot project to create an international high-tech cluster of Industry 4.0 with the participation of industrial enterprises and educational institutions in the Prydneprovsk Economic Region. A scientific and methodological approach to assessing the potential of cluster-network partnership of the regions of Ukraine and the EU in the framework of the formation of regional strategies for smart specialization is proposed and tested. The strategic priorities and institutional principles of cooperation between Ukraine and the EU in science, technology and innovation are substantiated, based on national and global challenges, potentials and achievements of domestic science, the new strategic agenda and features of EU innovation policy. Suggestions for improving the institutional support for further integration of Ukraine into the research and educational space of the EU are substantiated.
