The expediency of functionalization of spheroidal carbon nanoclusters to improve their solvation-polarization properties in solutions of hydrocarbon motor fuels is substantiated. A method for the functionalization of spheroidal carbon nanomaterials-target products of plasma-chemical synthesis-by adding additives to the liquid source material of organometallic and metal-complex compounds is proposed. Using a number of liquid hydrocarbons by the method of plasma chemical synthesis, laboratory batches of samples of carbon nanospheres were produced and allocated. Samples of nanospheres from liquid hydrocarbons with the addition of metal-containing compounds were synthesized under similar conditions. The concentration dependences of viscosity and refractive index of solutions of hydrocarbon components of motor fuels on the content of synthesized carbon nanospheres were studied. According to experimental data, the sizes of the zones of ordering of hydrocarbon molecules in solutions around individual particles of carbon nanospheres were calculated. It has been shown that multilayer domains of solvent molecules are formed in solutions of alkanes (as opposed to solutions of aromatic compounds), and the size of such compounds is about 100 nm. On the basis of synthesized carbon nanospheres, experimental batches of additives for motor gasolines and diesel fuels were made. The road-operational tests of the influence of the created additives on the energy efficiency of motor fuels during the operation of car engines in different modes showed the reduction of fuel consumption under the action of additives to 10-15%.
