Virological studies of biological material were provided from wild birds of 10 species belonging to the family Anatidae, order Anseriformes, which was collected during the autumn migration and wintering season 2020-2021. According to the results of virological studies, 15 hemagglutinating isolates were isolated from wild birds. All viruses were isolated from biological material selected from mallards, white-fronted geese and red-headed geese during autumn migration and wintering. During the period 2019-2021, 867 samples of biological material were collected from wild ducks of 18 species in the southern region of Ukraine. Virological examination revealed 55 hemagglutinating isolates, of which 38 were typed as influenza viruses. During 2019-2021, together with the Friedrich Löfler Institute, a full-genome sequencing of 75 orthomyxoviruses isolated in 2010-2020 and phylogenetic analysis of Ukrainian viruses in comparison with European viruses was performed. In 2021, a phylogenetic analysis of new Ukrainian influenza viruses of the H7 subtype was conducted, which allowed to establish the Eurasian origin of Ukrainian viruses.
