Neuroptera, during this period, are characterized by a variety of taxa and a wide representation of relatively well-preserved fossil forms in the deposits of the Old and New Worlds, and Asia. At the same time, a cursory analysis of published works and a review of undescribed museum collections indicates that a number of morphological features important for establishing the true systematic position of taxa and analyzing phylogenetic relationships have been insufficiently studied and described. The proposed project aims to critically analyze the morphological features of Mesozoic taxa, key to establishing their systematic position and phylogenetic relationships. Examples of well-preserved fossil samples of Cretaceous compression deposits and resins from South America (Krato Formation, Brazil) and Southeast Asia (Myanmar) will examine a range of important diagnostic features in the structure of the wings, mouth, and genitals of Neuroptera. The Mesozoic representatives of Rhachiberothidae and Babinskaiidae were chosen for the study, not by chance. The focus will be on fossils of the families Rhachiberothidae and Babinskaiidae. The study of new well-preserved fossil material will allow expanding the matrix of morphoparametric features, which will help to further establish the features of phylogenetic relationships of fossil and modern genera of two model families.
