The subject of the research is structural-semantic characteristics and experience of the usage of strategic communications in the political field. The aim of the study is to justify the content and structural components of strategic communications as a means of realization the political actors’ interests in modern political reality. Methods of the research include structural-functional, hermeneutic, comparative, phenomenological methods, along with situational and pragmatic analysis. Theoretical and practical significance lies in analysis of the etymology of the concepts "strategy" and "communication". There are specified the essential characteristics of the strategic narrative as a set of socially significant national values that influence the formation and consolidation the internal and external public image of the state and key strategies of state development in the mass consciousness. Scientific developments in the study of the content and typology of national interests are systematized. The role and procedure of using strategic communications in political practice are specified.
