Litvinenko Institute of Physical-Organic Chemistry and Coal Chemistry of the NAS of Ukraine popup.description2  Nanoporous carbon materials (NCM) adsorption capacities for phenol, 4-chlorophenol, methylene blue, iodine, Pb(II), Zn(II), and Cu(II) cations were studied. It was stated, that activation temperature and coal rank are the key factors for NCM adsorption ability. Adsorption kinetics (25°С) obeys the pseudo-second order model and is limited by interaction between adsorbat molecules and surface active ceneters. Adsorption isotherms are best approximated with Langmuire and Freundlich models. NCM capacity changes with coal rank with maximum for coals with Cdaf=80-81%. The common dependence has been stated for NCMs from coals and anthracites – decrease of microprosity and surface area, decrease of adsorption capacity for adsorbates tested, but increase of specific adsorption capacity from coal to anthracite nanoporous materais.
