Peculiarities of microstructure, morphology of structure, and character of phase and structural components distribution were determined. Defects of crystal structure, formation of dislocation inhomogeneities and local concentrators of internal stresses were identified using a JEM-200CX transmission electron microscope. The scalar density of dislocations was determined by the secant method. The distributions of deformations in the process zone determined by both the finite element method and the method of digital correlation of images were compared. It was shown that the use of a true deformation diagram in the finite element calculation algorithm ensures the correctness of numerical solutions. The minimum discrepancy between the calculated and experimental results of determining local deformations in the vicinity of the crack tip was obtained.
