The aim of this work – synthesis of molecular clips with fragments of diphenylglycoluryl and benzoaza and benzonaphthalene crown ethers, study of their structure and complexation with of alkali and alkaline earth cations. The interaction of diphenylglycoluril bis-ether with benzoaza-15-crown-5 derivatives in polyphosphate acid was studied and bis(benzoazacrown ethers) with diphenylglycoluryl fragments were obtained for the first time. The use of benzoaza-15-crown-5 with an unsubstituted Nitrogen atom gives a low yield of the target product. The introduction of substituents on the nitrogen atom can increase the yield to 40-42%. Spectrophotometric titration showed that bis (benzoazacrown ether) with a methyl group on a nitrogen atom with alkali and alkaline earth metal cations form only 1: 1 complexes. As well as for molecular clips with fragments of benzo-15-crown-5 and diphenylglycoluryl, in a number of alkali metal ions the stability constants of the complexes consistently increase during the transition from sodium ion to potassium and rubidium ions. The smallest constants were obtained for the cesium ion. However, the calculated values of the constants are much lower (up to 3 orders of magnitude of logarithmic units for potassium and rubidium). The conclusion is made about the formation of intramolecular sandwich complexes in the case of bis (benzoase-15-crown-5) with methyl groups with potassium and rubidium cations. The interaction of tetrabromobenzonaphthalene-18-crown-6 with diphenylglycoluryl derivatives was studied and it was found that the reaction does not lead to the formation of a molecular clip with terminal naphthalene fragments.
