The purpose of the work is to determine the physical and mechanical properties of sandstones, samples of which were taken in the field conveyor drift horizon 930 m (ПК 24 + 4.2); failures №1 of the central panel of the unit №11 (ПК 0 + 9.5) and the air supply passage of the central panel of the unit №11 (ПК 3 + 1). Research methods - laboratory experiments according to the developed methods, analysis of results, calculations according to standard methods. As a result of the work, the uniaxial compressive strength of three sandstones was determined, samples of which were taken in the conditions of the field conveyor lane of the horizon 930 m (ПК 24 + 4.2); failures №1 of the central panel of the unit №11 (ПК 0 + 9.5) and the air supply passage of the central panel of the unit №11 (ПК 3 + 1). The values of abrasiveness of the studied rocks by samples from each sandstone were obtained. As a result of the work, the physical and mechanical properties of rocks are determined, which are the initial data in calculating the parameters of technologies that ensure the safety of mining, which is of great socio-economic and environmental importance.
