The purpose of the study is to study the mechanisms, patterns and factors influencing the development of the child's personality in the recreational period, to develop a model of psychological support in the context of new educational technologies. Research methods: theoretical - analysis, generalization and systematization of theoretical approaches; empirical - observation, conversation, testing, analysis of products of activity. Statistical data processing was performed using the computer program SPSS v 16.0 for Windows. Theoretical and practical results: The main mechanisms of development of the child's personality in the recreational period are revealed. The personal characteristics of children-vacationers are revealed on the basis of the received results. The model of formation of the child's personality in the conditions of recreation is developed. The results of the study can be used by specialists in the field of psychology and pedagogy for the further development of scientific research, training of students-psychologists, as well as for the implementation of the model of psychological support of children by practical psychologists of children's recreational facilities. Scientific novelty: theoretical and methodological approaches to child development in recreational institutions are substantiated; the basic mechanisms of development of the child's personality in the conditions of recreation are studied; the model of formation of the child's personality in the recreational period is presented.
