The aim of the project is to develop proposals for the use of new metallurgical technologies in the metallurgy of Ukraine on the basis of research and assessment of trends in metallurgy of the world and Ukraine for 2019-2020. The method of project implementation involved the use of methods of analytical systems analysis to identify the target function of metallurgy development for the implementation of new technical solutions. An analysis of the current state and trends in the development of world metallurgy and mining and metallurgical complex of Ukraine. Using the indicators of production activity, the crucial importance of metallurgy for the economy of Ukraine as a basic industry was confirmed. The problematic issues of development of the mining and metallurgical complex of Ukraine (MMC) are shown, as a result of which MMC is becoming a world supplier of metallurgical raw materials and semi-finished products. The method of estimating the prospects of MMC development using probability theory and expert-mathematical apparatus (Harrington's desirability function) is applied. Based on available and open information, the need to use modern metallurgical processes for the production of competitive types of metal products is shown, which is of fundamental importance for the development of metallurgy in Ukraine. Promising directions of scientific researches in metallurgy which should be of interest for MMC of Ukraine and correspond to modern trends of development of world metallurgical science are offered.
