Based on the results of analysis and generalization of advantages and disadvantages of theories, concepts, models, approaches to describing the structure of metal and slag melts and their capabilities in predicting physicochemical, thermophysical properties of metallurgical melts, the choice of model of their structure based on developed by E.V. Prikhodko. Updated available at the Iron and Steel Institute of Z.I. Nekrasov of the NAS of Ukraine databases "Slag", "Metal", "Ferroalloys" of the database "Metallurgy" new experimental, literary, industrial data on chemical composition, properties and technological features of smelting of steels and alloys of special purpose, which served as an information basis for creating representative of the studied data samples. In order to form physicochemical prerequisites for assessing the efficiency of distribution of additives developed analytical expressions based on experimental data of domestic brands of ferroalloys, steels and slags to predict their leading physicochemical and thermophysical properties. Expert evaluation of the developed models in comparison with the existing approaches and calculations of the leading specialized computer programs was carried out, which confirmed their stability and efficiency. For specific conditions of steel production at the plants of PJSC "Dnipro Metallurgical Plant" and РrJSC «DNІPROSPETSSTAL» developed forecast models for calculating the coefficients of distribution of elements between metal and slag, taking into account the identified patterns of melt formation.
