For aluminum alloys D16AT and 1933 and HGS steel, the microhardness of the irradiated layer increases. The contributions of different mechanisms to the change in the strength of the modified surface layer are analyzed. The diffusion coefficients of radiation point defects in hexagonal crystals are calculated. It is shown that the main assumption of the theory of radiative growth of zirconium is not fulfilled. The bias factor of the basic edge loop of zirconium in the toroidal reservoir was found, taking into account the elastic anisotropy of the hexagonal crystal.
