The aim of the work is to investigate the evolution of modernism in Ukrainian literature during the XIX – the beginning of the XXI centuries (with the subsequent publication of the materials). Such comprehension of the Ukrainian literature will provide some new reading of the heritage of the writers of Executed Renaissance, “war” literature of the 1941 – 1945, the poetry and prose of “The Sixtiers” and dissidents, and the contemporary period. The research of the specific artistic individualities in the literature of mentioned periods, of the dominants of their poetics will enrich modern Ukrainian literary science; promote new directions of its development and renovations of lecture courses on issue of the evolution of Ukrainian literature in the XIX – the beginning of the XXI centuries, etc. Using the complex methodology, which includes the spectrum of traditional and modern methods and tools, the scientists provided practical realization of the aim and the particular tasks.
