The purpose of the work is to develop a formulation of special concrete that meets the requirements for the manufacture of containers for long-term storage of spent nuclear fuel. Research methods - determination of physical and mechanical and thermophysical properties of special concrete, assessment of concrete durability, creation of a calculation model of a container for long-term storage of spent nuclear fuel. Selection of radiation-protective concrete compositions was performed and physical-mechanical tests of concrete prototypes were performed. According to the results of research, concrete formulations are given, the results of compressive strength tests of prototypes are obtained, the temperature of concrete application is substantiated and the durability of the obtained concrete is estimated. The analysis of literature data is performed, which presents the results of experimental studies of the effect of neutron and gamma radiation on the mechanical properties of concrete (such as compressive strength, tensile strength in bending, modulus of elasticity, volume change and dimensional change). According to the results of research, the predicted assessment of the durability of concrete was performed. A description of the calculation model of the HI-STORM container with a loaded multi-purpose container -31 is presented.
