According to the obtained clinical data, the growth of the tumor may be evidenced by progressive unilateral sensorineural hearing loss, severe vestibular disorders (II-III degree) and cystic type of schwannoma structure according to MRI. Immunological studies have shown that elevated levels of IgM and transforming growth factor indicate a risk of increasing tumor size. The tumor growth rate averaged 3.4 mm over 6 months. The examination protocol has been improved, which consists in conducting the first control MRI in 6 months. after the detection of VS, with an increase in at least one of the tumor sizes by 2 mm or more during 6 months of observation indicates an increase in VS, which was found in 87.5% of cases. Pathomorphological studies have shown that the values of schwannoma cellularity correlated with the values of the rate of growth of tumor size: significantly faster increase their tumor volume with high cellularity of the parenchyma. The results can be implemented in otorhinolaryngological, neurological and neurosurgical departments to use the tactics of observation in patients with VS, which does not increase in size.
