The object of research - technological processes and agro-technical measures for growing legumes and cereal strip crops in the system of organic onion growing and patterns of growth and development of plants in drained peatlands of the Forest-Steppe of Ukraine. The aim of the work is to substantiate the technology of growing legume-cereal strip crops in the system of organic onion growing on drained organogenic soils, to establish the influence of legumes on increasing the productivity of meadow phytocenoses and improving soil fertility. Research methods - field, laboratory, mathematical and statistical. The highest yield in the amount of two slopes was provided by strip crops which included alfalfa sowing variety "Rosana" 31.8 t / ha of green mass or 6.42 t / ha of dry matter, slightly lower yield was formed by alfalfa crescent (yellow) variety "Bride" North "respectively 29.3 t / ha of green mass and 5.88 t / ha of dry matter. Meadow clover variety "Politanka" had the following yields of 28.8 t / ha, green mass and 5.05 t / ha of dry matter, clover variety "Lybid" respectively 26.2 t / ha and 4.61 t / ha. The grassland of pure sowing of perennial grasses which we took for control on productivity in comparison with strip bean-cereal crops of alfalfa and clover had lower indicators so the yield of green mass was 24.9 t / ha or 4.91 t / ha of dry matter. In the first year of growing legumes and cereal strip crops, the best economic indicators were obtained on the variant with alfalfa sowing variety "Rosana", where the net profit was 5730 UAH / ha, with a profitability of 55.5% and a cost of 1607 UAH / t. In the case of the Politanka meadow clover variant, the profitability was 39.5%, and in the Ajax hornbeam variety, the profitability was 17.5% due to its low yield.
