Objective: to study the phytohormonal system of new genotypes of Triticum aestivum L. and its wild predecessors under high temperature and drought, to establish the contribution of certain classes of phytohormones to the formation of stress resistance, to identify mechanisms of their functional interaction, to develop new biotechnological approaches to screening resistant genotypes of cultivated plants. Research methods: vegetation and laboratory, including high-performance liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS), centrifugation, spectrophotometry, structural-analytical (scanning electron microscopy, confocal laser scanning microscopy), morphophenological, statistical methods. Wild predecessors of Triticum aestivum L. were screened. There were collected Triticum spelta L. to be studied. The HPLS-MS method was used to conduct a compare study of five endogenous phytohormones balance in the organs of wheat and spelt in control following a short-term hyperthermia, a moderate soil drought and in the period of recovery. It was established that under control conditions spelt shoots had a higher content of endogenous cytokinins and gibberellic acids while in wheat that of abscisic, indol-3-acetic and salicylic acids was higher. It is shown that the dynamics of growth processes during the period of short-term hyperthermia and soil drought, and in the period of recovery, was regulated by changes in the balance of localization of endogenous phytohormones in the organs of wheat and spelt. Features of similarities and differences in the response of the phytohormonal system of wheat and spelt to short-term hyperthermia and moderate soil drought were found. Dynamic changes in the accumulation, localization and balance of phytohormones in the organs of wheat and spelt were established to be components of a mul Product Description popup.authors Babenko Lidia M Vasyuk Valentyna A.
