Due to their properties, these materials can be used as therapeutic hydrogel dressings for field and disaster medicine. During the reporting period, the formation methods and technological bases of production of new alginate compositions were studied. Obtained results allow the formation of highly porous hydrogel sheets directly on the affected areas of the body. These sheets can be used as an early modeling hydrogel dressing for complex, lacerated, and deep wounds with strong hemostatic, pain-relieving, and bactericidal properties. Research has been conducted to develop convenient and effective methods for fixing the hydrogel sheets on the damaged body surface. This, in turn, allows usage of the developed bandages in non-hospital conditions. In addition, considerable attention is paid to the study and optimization of technological parameters of the hydrogel medical dressings industrial production. Based on these studies, a technical task for the design of a semi-industrial plant for the alginate hydrogel dressings production with a capacity of 500 000 dm2 per year was stated.
