Pisarzhevskii Institute Of Physical Chemistry of The National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description2  Research object – coordination compounds of lanthanides with substituted calixarenes Research subject – synthetic procedures development of coordination compounds of lanthanides with substituted calixarenes Purpose of work The project goal is the development of concepts of new polynuclear lanthanide complexes creation with the prominent magnetocaloric effect on the basis of substituted calixarenes Research metodology is based on novel theoretical backgrounds of dependencies between magnetic properties of lanthanide complexes from their molecular and electronic structure, organization of molecular fragments in the crystal lattice. Results and novelty: effective and reproducible procedures for synthesis of 11 new complexes with lanthanides(III) ions have been developed on the basis of substituted calixarenes. In particular, from 11 synthesized lanthanide complexes were isolated 4 polycrystalline samples of complexes with calix[5]arenes and calix[6]arenes, 3 complexes with calix[5]arenes and calix[6]arenes and additional phosphine oxide ligands and 4 complexes with substituted calix[4]arenes and additional phosphine oxide ligand. Obtained compounds were characterized by IR-spectroscopy, X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy, powder X-Ray diffraction. The composition of complexes was proved on the basis of microanalysis, IR spectroscopy and powder XRD.
