Recommendations for the design and rational use of shielding systems based on lattice screens depending on the design and location of the transmission line have been developed. For the first time it was found that increasing the efficiency of shielding with lattice screens is achieved when the distance between their aluminum wires is not more than 0.5 m, and the diameter of the wires is not less than 4.6 mm when shielding single-circuit OHL, and not less than 5.7 mm shielding two-circuit OHL. It is shown that lattice screens allow to achieve a rate of normalization of at least 97% of the living space, protecting residents from the effects of magnetic fields. The cost of these screens is up to 10 times less than the cost required to replace the substation with a high-voltage cable line, which can be used to normalize the field level.
