Podgorny Institute of Mechanical Engineering Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description2 The work is aimed at increasing the efficiency, reliability and environmental friendliness of water treatment in the heat industry by changing the physical and chemical properties of water under the influence of external energy fields. Fundamental results: -for the first time in Ukraine in the process of experimental research it was found that the influence of electromagnetic field, accounting the direction of gravitational field and pulsating washing of membranes significantly improve electrodeionization, reduce energy losses for water supply, extend 3 – 3.5 times the service life of reverse osmosis membranes and increase of 10 percent the productivity of the device at the same depth of water purification for thermal power plants and combined heat and power plants; - world first the reasons for the accumulation of iron compounds and sulfides in groundwater, brines and mineralized effluents are theoretically substantiated. On this basis, a reagent-free method of purification of brines from iron compounds and sulfides, as well as a method of separation of multicomponent brines to obtain commercial salts are developed; -for the first time in Ukraine it was established that the use of physical fields influence can increase of 15-20 percent water evaporation. Applied results: - an experimental-industrial installation for water deionization at thermal power plants and combined heat and power plants was established at the Yuzhcable plant; - method of waste-free processing of highly mineralized water with accumulated iron compounds using electrophysical fields, which will provide heat facilities with high-quality feed water using condensate from brine processing and significantly reduce the load on chemical treatment production units in TPP and CHP to prevent the impending ecological catastrophe in the mining regions of Ukraine is developed.
