The results of a pilot experiment conducted during the reporting period showed that the social expectations of young people differ significantly depending on the region of residence, the size of the settlement, as well as the gender of the respondents; if career guidance work is carried out in one way or another in all educational institutions, then purposeful work on the definition and formation of value and social orientations, skills of strategic planning for the future, preparation for family life is at a low level. The scientific novelty is that for the first time a holistic socio-pedagogical study of the social expectations of modern students will be carried out, the results of which will be analyzed taking into account gender and regional characteristics; diagnostic techniques will be developed; defined, substantiated and tested organizational conditions for monitoring the social expectations of modern youth; the essence of the concepts “social expectations of youth”, “social orientations of modern youth”, “family-oriented expectations of youth”, “value orientations of youth” is clarified from the standpoint of social pedagogy; further development will be a comprehensive study of the problems of socialization of the individual and social education.
