The aim of the work is theoretical and synthetic generalization of socially important scientific knowledge in the humanities: basic art studies in the field of theory and history of theater, music, fine arts, television and cinema, practical and exploratory studies aimed at developing theory and history of art, introduction of new concepts, theoretical models, research methods and practices, development of national culture. Art history today is a relevant and socially important field of activity. The performed GDR covers a number of topical issues and a number of challenges inherent in modern Ukrainian society, which need to be properly understood and solved. Among them - scientific analysis and systematization of trends in the reflection and theoretical understanding of artistic practice (theater, music, fine arts, television and cinema) in the art of Ukraine. Publication of the most important results of scientific research in the field of theory and history of art, as well as art criticism. Theoretical work was combined with the practical implementation of scientific achievements in public life. The peculiarities of the main ideas on which the work of artists has been historically built in comparison with the goals and objectives of social development have been studied; a meaningful analysis of the principles on which the work of art critics has historically been built, and a critique of these principles; revealed patterns of formation and development of art history in Ukraine in the context of world development; gained new knowledge about the functioning and development of art history in Ukraine.
