The main factors of anthropogenic load the spatial position of the local origin of amber (succinite) placers, the geological affiliation of amber-succinite to certain deposits and the impact on the stability of succinite in hypergenic conditions are described. The problem of changing the quality of succinite until its complete destruction under the influence of hypergenic changes associated with disturbed conditions, changes in groundwater regime has been identified. Illegal extraction of succinite amber, especially with the use of hydromotor pump method, leads to mixing and disintegration of amber-containing rocks, which contributes to the intensive heterogeneous oxidation and transformation of succinite amber. The most promising territory of the Pripyat amber-bearing basin, which covers the northern districts of Volyn, Rivne and Zhytomyr oblasts, is under the threat of complete loss of domestic succinite amber. The main geological and ecological risks of illegal amber mining in the Northern region of Ukraine were considered. The geoecological consequences and ways to overcome the global amber mining crisis have been analyzed. Examples of negative consequences of irrational use of nature, degradation of natural resources and the natural environment were given.
