Endemic species with small areas, relict species are particularly dependent on changes in living conditions. An effective method of assessing complex transformations is the monitoring of biological objects that are sensitive to small fluctuations in environmental conditions. For hornbeam forests, the analysis of the ecological characteristics of fungi showed that most stenotopic species are sensitive to climatic fluctuations. Methodical recommendations for the indication of structural and functional changes of the forest ecosystem on the basis of population-species analysis of aphilophoroid fungi have been developed; a photo qualifier of indicator mushrooms was created. A system for preventing the threat of alien species to natural biodiversity in the context of climate change, through the implementation of relevant EU implementing regulations. New locations of fungi of the Red Book of Ukraine: Tricholoma focale and Myriostoma coliforme have been identified, which confirms the expansion of species habitats under the influence of climate change. A new species of the fungus Chaenothecopsis polissica V.P. Heluta and M.M. Sukhomlyn, sp. nov. (Mycocaliciales, Ascomycota), which belongs to the small-fruited species of calcioids associated with resin. Mycological studies of late Eocene amber to assess compliance with modern species diversity demonstrate the response of biota to climatic fluctuations that lead to the extinction of some organisms. It is proposed to consider Belgica antarctica Jacobs, 1900 (Diptera: Chironomidae) as a model for studying the mechanisms of insect survival in the context of Antarctic climate change.
