The aim is to increase the effectiveness of treatment of patients with combat injuries of the peripheral nervous system through the development of new methods of reconstructive interventions, implementation of a set of therapeutic and diagnostic measures aimed at maximizing the restoration of lost nerve function and effective pain management. Research methods: general clinical; clinical and neurological; electrophysiological; neuroimaging research methods. According to the results of research, it has been established: 1) damage to peripheral nerves as a result of mine and explosive and gunshot wounds in more than 75% of cases complicated by pain; 2) patients with chronic pain syndromes have mental disorders that require additional medical support and psychotherapeutic treatment; 3) in comparison with the usual trauma of peripheral nerves (without the impact of injuring shells), combat trauma of the extremities with damage to the PNS has worse results in restoring its structure and function; 4) neuropathic pain occurs more often in patients with mine injuries compared to gunshot wounds and is less treatable; 5) installation of ESS for long-term epidural electrical stimulation and distal electrical stimulation of nerves - an effective means of managing patients with pain.
