Subject of research: clinical manifestations, diagnosis, treatment results. The aim of the work is to improve the results of treatment of young children with brain tumors. The results of the study: during the analysis of archival and current clinical material within the study group revealed age, topographic and anatomical features of localization and histological variants of brain tumors. Scientific novelty of the study: - Analysis of the clinical manifestations of the disease, the results of neuroimaging allow you to choose adequate surgical tactics in this group of patients. - The dependence of the results of surgical treatment of tumors in young children on the general condition of the child, tumor size, the characteristics of tumor growth, the type and radicality of the operation. - The study of follow-up data allowed to determine the prognostic factors that affect the survival and quality of life of patients, depending on the volume of treatment. - The heterogeneity of brain tumors in young children, which requires the detection of new molecular markers with their use in current diagnostic work for tumor subtyping to develop individualized treatment regimens. The practical significance of the study: - Anatomical and topographical and histostructural features of brain tumors in young children were revealed on the basis of extensive clinical material. - The results of surgical treatment were evaluated taking into account the quality and life expectancy of patients depending on the operation radicality, histological and topographic features of tumors. - Identified and analyzed causes of postoperative complications and mortality, as well as identified favorable prognostic factors that improve quality of life and increase life expectancy in children of younger age groups with brain tumors. - The studied heterogeneity of brain tumors.
