Karazin Kharkiv National University popup.description2  The object of the study were physical processes and phenomena that determine the structural-phase state and physical and mechanical properties of multielement and multilayer nitride coatings, which are formed by vacuum-arc method on tool substrates, as well as the features of the consolidation process of carbide-oxide ceramic materials, which can be the basis of cutting tools. In work features of phase and structure formation are investigated and physical ideas about processes of formation of multicomponent nitride functional coatings deposited from one or two sources at vacuum-arc spraying of cathodes of different compositions are developed. The influence of technological factors (conditions of electroconsolidation, speed and maximum temperature of heating, level of additional pressure) on the structural-phase state and properties of ceramic consolidated composites has been determined. Verification of the received data on the properties of the formed materials and coatings was determined by laboratory tests of PcBN cutting plates with different types of coatings. Proposals for optimization of the process of formation of plasma coatings for application under certain thermobaric and corrosive influences are formulated.
