Karazin Kharkiv National University popup.description2  Objects of study - asteroids, comet nuclei, dwarf planets, the Moon. Subject of research - physical characteristics of surfaces. Goal of work: to determine the degree of diversity of the regoliths properties on the surfaces of asteroids and comparative analysis with regoliths on the surface of the Moon. Research methods - photometric and spectral observations, computer modeling. As a result of research, the following results were obtained. The local characteristics of the regolith of selected areas on the lunar surface and the largest asteroids by the method of phase relations have been studied. For the first time, multiphase photometry was performed based on space data of the highest spatial resolution (0.5 pixels/meter) for specific photometric anomalies. The distribution of the slope of the phase curve A(56°)/A(23°) for irregular mare patches in the crater Hyginus on the surface of the Moon was mapped with the Narrow-Angle Camera of the LRO satellite and features of optical surface roughness were identified. Significant differences in the optical properties of regolith of irregular mare patch Maskelyne in comparison with the surrounding areas were found, which indicates the different nature of their formation. The increased phase slope of the surface of this formation may indicate its smoothed structure, and in combination with its relatively small exposure age is an indicator of the collapsing surface. Changes in optical roughness for young craters on the surface of both Ceres (Oxo Crater) and Vesta (Antonia Crater and an unnamed crater near Laeila) have been identified. An anomalous area (-43.0°, 283.6°) was found, which may be an outcrop of subsurface layers of Vesta. A comparison of albedo distribution maps, phase ratios and color indices for selected areas of the Moon and Vesta indicates a clear negative correlation between albedo and A(950 nm)/A(750 nm) color for small craters, indicating their low degree of maturity.
