Karazin Kharkiv National University popup.description2  The physical processes and phenomena determining the adhesion interaction in layered solid objects, in particular, the systems "multicomponent coating - tool substrate", the influence of substrate surface pretreatment on its adhesion to the coating were the object of research. The paper investigates the influence of different technological methods of cleaning the surface of substrates made of different materials to improve the adhesion characteristics. The influence of technological factors (pressure in the chamber, negative displacement potential on the substrate, cathode compositions) and substrate pretreatment on the structural-phase state and properties of composites with TiZrN-TiSiN; ZrN/CrN; (TiAlSiY)N/CrN coatings has been determined. Verification of the fundamental data obtained on the phase formation patterns and evolution of the coatings structure was carried out during the tests of PCBN cutting plates, the (TiAlSiY)N/CrN system shows the best results.
