DNA was isolated from 132 samples of Antarctic pearlwort, which belong to 14 isolated populations. The quality of the isolated DNA was checked spectrophotometrically and using agarose gel electrophoresis. The amount of DNA was approximately 15 ng / μl. The results of the analysis of polymorphism of the length of the first intron of β-tubulin genes show that among the studied populations of pearl barley there are only two types of DNA profile: one characteristic of populations from Perez, Palmer Anvers, Charkot, Pourquoi-Pas, Blaiklock, Leonie and of Galindez, Barthelot, Tuxen, King Georg, Livingston, Deception, Lagotelleria, Irizar. This may be due to the conditions of existence of the studied samples. By analyzing the polymorphism of length of the second intron of β-tubulin genes, the individual genotypes were isolated only within some populations of colobantus (in 4 of 15 studied), which indicates less differential ability of this variant of study for estimate the differences between Antarctic pearlwart populations. The results of the study indicate that plants from Punta Arenas most likely belong to another species (C. subulatus and / or C. lycopodoides), as they have significant differences in their TBP / cTBP profiles compared to DNA profiles of others populations. In general, based on the analysis of the intron length polymorphism of β-tubulin genes, a low level of genetic polymorphism of Antarctic colobantus was revealed, which is probably due to the historical peculiarities of the formation of Antarctic populations.
